This play provides educational opportunities for teaching rhythm, language and rhyme. It is a timeless celebration of rhythm and language in quick-paced theatrical revue with an orbiting celebration of action, songs and games, the actors assemble to entertainemuch like commedia troupes of old. Hey Diddle Diddle! brings to astonishing life the characters of childlike fantasy such as Humpty Dumpty, Little Miss Muffet, the Grand Old Duke of York and many otherseevoking the joyful imagination of children of all ages. A large-cast version distributes roles to include a large number of performers, even as young as elementary school-aged children. The play can be performed with simple melodies (included in script) and primary musical instruments (kazoo, drum, rhythm sticks, etc.) or spoken, without music. Set and costumes variable.
