The entire company of two, led by artistic director Desmond Olivier Dingle and his complete ensemble, Raymond Box, re-enact the entire Christmas story, including all of the best-loved characters, Joseph, Mary, and Archangel Gabriel, Herod, God and many more.

First performed at the Tricycle Theatre in 1983, Patrick Barlow’s The Messiah is a hilarious updating of the greatest story ever told, including many specially researched brand-new sequences culled from the very latest biblical findings.

This edition was published alongside the revival at the Bush Theatre, London, in December 2000.
