Description
As in Orwells’ 1984, there are chilling science fiction aspects to this unusual play. The time is the future with gigantic cities and an artificial existence. When a suspicious woman finds a stranger has with him a wilted rose, she’s terrified’for there have been no roses nor any green thing on earth for decades! In a climactic scene, it’s revealed that the stranger is a time-traveler from our time, having gone forward in the hope of discovering a cure for his daughter stricken by an incurable illness. The computer-available records prove that the stranger died in his own time and so he must have returned. Along with the moving emotional scene, there’s also a fascinating intellectual paradox. One int. set.
