Description

This is an original play produced in a stylized Chinese manner. The comedy is built around the fantastic tale of three suitors who come to prove their prowess in order to win the hand of the emperor’s daughter. Fleeing with the suitor of her choiceethe unpretentious student ,Tangethe princess is pursued by the emperor’s army. She is welcomed back when Tang is able to subdue the fierce dragon of the Khan of Tartary by twisting its tail. Novel, deadpan comedy is provided by a property man and the chorus. Single set. Bare stage with movable Chinese properties. Chinese costumes. Approximate running time: 45 minutes. Music in book.
