Tinker Autumn relates an unusual alliance between two young peoplee12-year-old Caitlin Moran and 13-year-old Peter Crichtonein a rural American setting. Circumstances have placed both outside the middle-class mainstream of society, leaving Caitlin illiterate and Peter an orphan. Both must fight the system in order to hang on to their individuality and integrity.
