Stephanie, whose brother has died, finds her way through it by creating a fantasy in which her brother appears, portrayed in mime. He sticks with her and helps her prepare for the science fair until she is ready to accept his loss, begins to feel the grief, and finds renewed confidence in herself to go on living without him.
