This title is orchestrated for a live Keyboard combined with electronica (supplied through Ableton files).

American Psycho is a unique property that requires some specialty skills from your music director. Please review the following information prior to executing your agreement to ensure that you’re able to produce the show without issue.

American Psycho has electronica backing tracks that were run through Ableton (https://www.ableton.com/en/) during the run on Broadway. When you license this title from us there are two options currently available.

The recommended option: you receive the Ableton files, a Piano/Conductor score, and a Key 2/Guitar score. Your music director will play the “DJ” track as well as any live keyboard required for the show. They will use Ableton to cue the electronica and seamlessly transition in and out of vamps.

The alternative option: If you do not have access to a music director who is fluent in Ableton we also have tracks that will play straight through. This will be a much simpler process from a technological standpoint but will have no flexibility when it comes to timing dialogue with underscoring. This may prove difficult to navigate with your actors or your directors who may have to learn to time up to 90 seconds worth of dialogue perfectly.
